The WPLJ Promotions Department is seeking undergraduate and graduate students who are looking to gain valuable “hands on” experience in the field of public relations. If you are out-going, not afraid of being on a microphone in front of a crowd and believe you have what it takes to be a success in the radio business, we want to hear from you!
The Promotions Department produces, promotes and executes concerts, live broadcasts, movie screenings and other station-related events as well as client-based promotional van-appearances. College Interns assist at these events and are also assigned day-to-day office duties to learn how a radio station operates “behind the scenes”.
The Promotions Internship Program is open only to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. The internship is unpaid and college credit *must* be earned. Students enrolled in a degree program in communications, marketing / public relations or business-related field preferred. Ideally, each intern should be available two days per week (Monday -Friday) and one day on the weekend totaling 20 to 25 hours per week. There is some flexibility based on the student’s schedule and the number of hours required by the school to receive credit.
Internships are available every semester. Academic credit *must* be earned.
